How Does Lamar Jackson's Current Season Stack Up Against Previous MVP Campaigns?

After an 0-2 start to the season, the Baltimore Ravens have turned their year around and sit at a 5-2 record.

The fuel to this resurgence has been reigning MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson. During the Ravens win streak, Jackson has thrown for 1,290 yards and 13 touchdowns to just one interception. He hasn't posted a sub-110 passer rating since losing to the Las Vegas Raiders. He continues to be deadly on the ground, rushing 52 times for 288 yards and two touchdowns.

With his seemingly third MVP on the way, how does this season stack up with his previous MVP seasons?

In his first season with offensive coordinator Todd Monken, Jackson went 13-3 and won his second MVP positing a career-high 3,678 passing yards. Under Monken's offense, the Ravens have imposed a more deadly passing attack while the looming threat of the run still keeps defenses on their toes. The scheme also allows Jackson to take more initiative pre-snap and change the calls and protections. The Ravens quarterback has been more surgical and polished than ever, earning him early MVP nods.

Jackson is on pace for 4,396 passing yards and 36 passing touchdowns with 1,105 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns. He is on track to have his best season yet, which could very well grant him the third MVP award of his career. This would place him with NFL legends Brett Favre and Jim Brown as the only players to win three MVPs before turning 30.

But even with this Hall of Fame level achievement for Jackson, he's remained focused on fulfilling his draft day promise: bringing a Super Bowl to Baltimore.
