Are you looking for a unique way to create holiday memories? Then climb aboard a Christmas train to celebrate the wonders of the season. Here are a few Ohio railroads offering these fun adventures:

Lebanon Mason & Monroe Railroad (16 East South Street, Lebanon)

Hop aboard the North Pole Express. An annual tradition among many families, the ride features vintage train cars that come to life with holiday cheer. Passengers visit with Santa and his elves as the train chugs along the tracks, and all children receive a cookie and souvenir bell.

The Lebanon Mason & Monroe Railroad runs the North Pole Express on select dates in November and December. Both coach and deluxe class seating are available.

Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (7900 Old Rockside Road, Independence)

Book a ride on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad to see why it offers one of Ohio’s most popular Christmastime rides. It whisks passengers off on a magical journey to the North Pole, where they meet the postmaster who delivers letters to Santa Claus. To enhance your experience, board the train wearing your most comfortable and festive pajamas and be ready to sing along to your favorite holiday songs.

The North Pole Adventure will depart from the Rockside Station between November 8th and December 21st.

Hocking Valley Scenic Railway (33 West Canal Street, Nelsonville)

For more than four decades, the Santa Train has been a holiday tradition in Nelsonville. The trains cross the scenic Hocking River Valley. Christmas music plays during the ride, and Santa boards every train to learn who has been naughty or nice.

The fun starts at the Nelsonville Depot, with the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway offering these exciting journeys on Saturdays and Sundays between November 30th and December 22nd.

Zanesville and Western Scenic Railroad (5700 SR 204, Mt. Perry)

Nestled in Mt. Perry, the Zanesville and Western Scenic Railroad offers a wonderful way to celebrate the holidays while giving back to the community. Fun for kids and adults alike, the 40-minute Santa train features stunning scenery and festive treats from the big man himself. Enjoy a ride indoors or bundle up for an unforgettable ride in an open-air car.
