Groundbreaking ceremony held to build California's newest "boutique" casino opening in 2026

A groundbreaking ceremony was held in Amador County on Thursday for the Acorn Ridge Casino, a new "boutique" casino set to enhance the Sacramento area's gaming landscape. Located in Plymouth, approximately 40 miles east of Sacramento, the casino is slated to open its doors in 2026.

The event saw participation from local elected officials and leaders of the Ione Band of Miwok Indians, who will oversee the casino's operations. Once completed, Acorn Ridge Casino will feature traditional slot machines and table games, complemented by local wines and food offerings. Additionally, the venue will include outdoor recreational and entertainment spaces, aiming to create a unique experience for visitors.
