Maximus Jones also added 41 yards and one touchdown on the ground, averaging 4.6 yards per carry.Joseph Towler reeled in five catches for 106 yards and one score. Micaleous Elder also got in on the action in the passing game, hauling in five catches for 73 yards and two touchdowns.Odion Okojie showed out for the Bulldogs defense, collecting five tackles and one interception and Sadiq Salawu had nine tackles and 1.0 TFL in the loss.How It HappenedAfter Virginia Union opened up a 28-0 lead, Bowie State put points on the scoreboard with 2:15 left in the second quarter to narrow the margin to 28-7.Virginia Union extended its lead to 42-7, but the Bulldogs responded with a touchdown to narrow the advantage to 42-13. Bowie State scored again with 4:10 remaining in the third quarter to narrow the deficit to 42-21.Virginia Union scored to extend its lead to 49-21 before the Bulldogs scored again to close the gap and make it a 49-28 game.
