Chiefs' Andy Reid Reveals DeAndre Hopkins ‘No-Wait’ Debut Staus

The Kansas City Chiefs traded for All-Pro receiver DeAndre Hopkins midweek, and while the veteran is still getting his feet underneath him in Andy Reid's system, there is hope that he'll play against the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium.

While we have seen some players come in and fit in straight away with their new team, Hopkins has only had a few days to get acclimated not only to the playbook but also to his new teammates.

But will we see Hopkins in a Chiefs uniform against the Raiders?

"Probably yeah," Reid said , later adding, “Why wait, right?”

That decision likely stems from how Hopkins has acclimated to practice and what the coaching staff has seen from the veteran.

Having barely been used by the Tennessee Titans through the first part of the season, Hopkins is considered "fresh," but how has he looked at Chiefs practice?

“He did a good job,” Reid added. “He's in the process of going through everything, so everything he does is the first time, but he's got the experience with relative plays, but he's picked it up, he's smart guy, which really helps."

With Hopkins now fully expected to play and having a decent grasp on the offense, he could be set for a serious role against the Raiders as the Chiefs look to continue their undefeated start to the season.

But don't expect an eight-catch, 100+ yard game. Instead, we imagine that Reid will scheme Hopkins open on some plays while also giving him some easy catches to get in rhythm with his new quarterback, Patrick Mahomes.

The Chiefs traded for Hopkins, and now, a few days later, he'll be suiting up for the defending champs.
