Millions of residents in Georgia, Western North Carolina, Northern South Carolina, and other areas are still reeling from the devastation wrought last month by Hurricane Helene. Having strong ties to North Carolina, Luke Combs and Eric Church united their star power to help the region begin the painful process of rebuilding. And they accomplished their goal in a major way, raising a staggering amount with their Concert for Carolina

Along with Billy Strings and James Taylor, Luke Combs and Eric Church headlined Concert for Carolina to raise funds for communities impacted by the hurricane. Other performers included Sheryl Crow, Keith Urban, Bailey Zimmerman, the Avett Brothers, and Scotty McCreery.

More than 80,000 fans packed the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on Saturday (Oct. 26.) According to online reports, that amounted to more than $24 million raised to help people in the Appalachian region find their new normal after Hurricane Helene.

Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper donated the stadium, staff and parking free of charge for the event. Additionally, vendors donated all money raised from concessions, merchandise and parking.

Eric Church: “There Is No Community Next Door

Luke Combs told 104.3 KCY Country that he immediately picked up the phone to call Eric Church after hearing of the devastation in their home state.

In a press conference, Church praised the “strong, independent, proud communities” that make up western North Carolina.

“And I’ve said many times that they’re the exact community that when the community next door is in trouble, you can count on that community to come help you,” said the “Drink in My Hand” singer. “And in this situation, there is no community next door. It’s all been destroyed. So, what you’re seeing tonight, is we are the community next door. The people that are in this stadium are the community next door.”
