EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - IN an ongoing effort to reach out and connect with the community, the East Brunswick Police Department joined with their partners Panera Bread and the Brunswick Square Mall to host a “Coffee with a Cop” event this Saturday morning.

Representatives from the EBPD shared a cup with local residents, providing information and answering questions about department policy and procedures.  Mostly, though, they shared some good will and reassurance with the EB community.  Chief Frank Loacco and his team exhibited yet another example of Community Policing by providing an opportunity for people to “meet and greet” those who are there to protect and serve as first responders.  They were joined by Mayor Brad Cohen; District 18 Assemblyman Sterley Stanley; township Council President and Vice President Kevin McEvoy and Dana Zimbicki; Economic Development Officer Robert Zuckerman, and Board of Education Member Heather James in this well-caffeinated outreach event.

Said Chief LoSacco, "We would like to extend our gratitude to the members of the East Brunswick Community who took time out of their day to meet and greet our officers to discuss various topics while sharing a cup of coffee.

#CoffeewithaCop is a national campaign that breaks down the barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve by removing agendas and allowing opportunities to ask questions, voice concerns, and get to know the officers in their neighborhood. The East Brunswick Police Department is especially appreciative of the Brunswick Square Mall for hosting the event, along with Panera providing coffee."
