Only two games have gone by in the World Series, but it’s already putting up astronomical numbers.

According to Fox Sports public relations, through the first two games, the 2024 World Series is averaging 14.5 million viewers across all networks which is its best start since 2017, which continues the trend from Game 1.

The peak audience was at 16.4 million viewers on Fox from 11 p.m. ET to conclusion which means those on the East Coast are staying up well past their bedtime.

Yes, New York Yankees fans are tuning in to see how their team fares against the Los Angeles Dodgers. So far, they’re down 0-2 as they head to The Bronx for Game 3.

The series has given us plenty of dramatics, however. It started off with a bang as Dodgers first baseman hit a walk-off grand slam in Game 1 during a dramatic, bottom of the ninth, two out scenario. L.A. went on to win 6-3 in front of a crowd of 50,000 in an ode to Kirk Gibson in Game 1 of the 1988 World Series.

Announcer Joe Davis even paid tribute to the late, legendary Vin Scully on the call.

It was a dream come true scenario for Freeman.

Game 2’s numbers were down from Game 1 , not unsurprising given that it was competing against a full slate of prime-time college football games. There was, however, a 65% uptick when compared to Game 2 of the 2023 World Series between the Texas Rangers and Arizona Diamondbacks.

The series now shifts to New York for Game 3 on Monday, Game 4 on Tuesday and if necessary, Game 5 on Wednesday. If necessary, the series will return to Los Angeles on Friday for Game 6 and Saturday for Game 7.
