Crinkle Chocolate Cookie Recipe: Easy and Delicious!

This cookie recipe is a family favorite of mine as they taste a lot like brownie cookies rolled in powdered sugar. They are really simple to make and they are a real crowd pleaser. You will need the following ingredients:

    Recipe:

1/2 cup of butter, room temperature

    1/2 cup of sugar

1/2 cup of dark brown sugar (light will work in a pinch)

    1 large egg

    1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

1 cup of self rising flour

1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder

1/2 cup of milk chocolate chips

    1 cup of powdered sugar

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

In a medium bowl add the butter, brown sugar, white sugar, egg and vanilla and mix until this is light and fluffy.

Add the flour and cocoa powder. Mix on low until all the ingredients are mixed together and then turn the mixer up and mix until the dough is smooth.

Add the chocolate chips and mix them into the dough by hand. Tip: You can use the mixer to do this step but I think that the chocolate chips are better distributed when you mix the dough by hand.

Using a cookie scoop or a spoon, spoon the cookie dough out and roll them into balls and sit aside.

Pour the powdered sugar into a small bowl and roll each cookie in the sugar and then place the cookie on a greased sheet pan.

Bake the cookies for 9 - 11 minutes or until the edges are set but the center is still soft. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them sit on the pan for 4 - 5 minutes then place the cookies on a cooling rack. Enjoy!

Note: You can use whatever chocolate chip you enjoy. I like make the cookies up ahead of time,I just do not bake them, and then I place them in the freezer to bake at a later time.

I like to serve these as a special treat for my family.
