SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Hokies (7-13, 1-9 ACC) fell to Syracuse (13-9, 1-9 ACC) on Sunday afternoon in five sets (25-21, 16-25, 25-21, 24-26, 13-15). Syracuse opened the first set with a 4-0 scoring run and wided the gap to a 7-1 lead. The Hokies battled back to 10-7 lead after a 9-0 run from the squad, highlighted by three aces in four serves from Jasmine Robinson. Tech and Syracuse then entered into a cutthroat battle, trading points the entirety of the set. Once the score reached 21-21, the Hokies were able to pull away and capture the opening set win with a 4-0 run, pushing the first to 25-21.
