They’ll likely be favored in three of them, with a chance to upset Syracuse in the mix, as well.</p><p>Here is how the final four teams on the schedule fared over Week 9.</p><h2>Georgia State (2-5) - Nov. 1</h2><p>There were seven lead changes and the largest advantage was just nine, but Appalachian State got into the end zone in the final two minutes, handing Georgia State a 33-26 defeat. The Panthers weren’t able to do much with their final possession, turning the ball over on downs without moving the chains.</p><p>For a game that was so close, the Georgia State defense gave up more than 100 extra yards (479-to-386), though it did force the game’s only turnover. Time of possession was nearly deadlocked.</p><p>Zach Gibson was in at quarterback and he was 16-of-22 passing for 192 yards, with a touchdown against zero interceptions. He also had 12 carries for 13 yards, though all but one was tied up in one rush. Freddie Brock got the handoff 10 times and gained 67 yards, but Michel Dukes and Kyle Lowe were the ones who scored touchdowns.</p><h2>UAB (1-6) - Nov. 9</h2><p>UAB was off over the weekend. The Blazers will be back in action against Tulsa on Saturday.</p><h2>Syracuse (5-2) - Nov. 23</h2><p>Bowl eligibility will have to wait another week for the Orange, who were in Pittsburgh for some Thursday night action. It couldn’t have gone worse for the road team, as the Panthers scored three defensive touchdowns in the first half and led 31-0 at the break, eventually taking a 41-13 victory.</p><p>The Syracuse defense only surrendered 217 yards of offense, but five turnovers helped give Pittsburgh short fields, when its defense wasn’t scoring touchdowns of its own. The Orange gained 327 yards and had 23 first downs, while holding onto the ball for 41:12.</p><p>Kyle McCord was responsible for all five turnovers, throwing five picks. He was 35-of-64 for 321 yards. The Ohio State transfer was sacked four times and ran nine times overall for a net of negative-32 yards and a touchdown. LeQuint Allen ran 15 times for 32 yards to lead the way.</p><h2>UMass (2-6) - Nov. 30</h2><p>UMass was finally able to control a game from start to finish, as Wagner, the program’s second FCS foe, was in Amherst. The Minutemen were up 21-0 at the half and secured a 35-7 victory on Saturday.</p><p>The home team was efficient with the ball, scoring quickly, while Wagner held onto the ball for for 39:14. Its touchdown drive lasted more than 10 minutes. However, UMass had 317 yards to just 218 for the Seahawks, who gained just 12 first downs.</p><p>Taisun Phommachanh had a big game, running for a pair of touchdowns on seven rushes, gaining 30 yards. He also completed 10 of his 18 passes, which went for 129 yards. He threw for another score, but added an interception.</p></div></body>
