<body><div><figure><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=1mOgrK_0wOsbNyp00" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=1mOgrK_0wOsbNyp00" width="800" height="508" ><figcaption>A view of the Ipswich Caring barn before supplies go out (courtesy photo)</figcaption></figure>Please Support Local Advertisers333IPSWICH — A charity that focuses exclusively on the town is preparing for its winter project.“We are busy having our volunteer shoppers purchase winter coats and boots for 200 kids right here in town,” said Cheryl Forster Cahill, director of Ipswich Caring.“It all started when a little girl came home and told her mom that her friend didn’t have a warm coat almost 50 years ago,” she said of the charity. “And we are still running today.”During the holiday season, 100 families receive winter warm clothes, gift certificates to buy personal items, toys, and food.And all senior citizens in town over the age of 80 (there are more than 400) receive a holiday visit and a coffee cake.“We also set kids up at back-to-school time with sneakers and supply-filled backpacks. Each child receives a gift certificate on his or her birthday to buy something special,” Forster Cahill said.“We do what we can to ease the burden just a bit for financial distressed families with children. Our organization is 100% volunteer, and we depend on the community to fund us through donation,” she said. Ipswich Caring is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.Donations can be made with a check addressed to Ipswich Caring, PO Box 584, Ipswich, MA 01938.
