NORMAL – A home on Normal's far east side was heavily damaged by a massive fire, but fortunately, no one was injured. Normal Fire Department responded to numerous 9-1-1 calls reporting heavy smoke and visible fire at 1225 Silver Oak Circle just after 4:00 p.m. on Friday. While responding to the call, firefighters could see the plume of black smoke in the sky and immediately upgraded the alarm. Additional resources from Normal were added to the call, and mutual aid was requested from the Bloomington Fire Department.
