Liam Payne's fans are hoping that his cherished pet dog will find a new home with his seven-year-old son, Bear .

The former One Direction singer sadly died aged 31 after falling from the third floor of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires , Argentina, on October 16. Liam is survived by his family, including his son, who he shared with his ex-girlfriend Cheryl.

One of Liam's final Instagram posts was a sweet snap of him snuggling with his dog Nala while lounging in bed. Fans have since flooded the comments to share their memories of Liam and express their wishes that "the dog goes to Bear."

One heartbroken fan added: "And now how do you explain to your dog that you won't come back??"alongside two tearful emojis. Liam had adopted the rescue dog, Nala, just weeks before his death.

Liam introduced Nala to his followers on social media, writing: "I really love her. She is so cute. She is a tiny new member of the family for a while.

"We're going to foster her for a while and get her really nice for a loving family I think. But we might be the nice family." Liam also shared insights into the special relationship he had with his son before his death.

He told People Magazine back in 2022: "I see him two times a week, three times a week sometimes. And I make sure when I see him, he has 100 per cent of my time. I make sure that I'm not on my phone or d------ around somewhere else."

Liam added: "I like to give him those moments and it's important, he needs that in his life, he needs his dad in his life, and I'm happy he looks at me like a superhero, and I'm hoping to keep it that way."

On March 25, 2017, Cheryl celebrated their son's birth on Instagram with a touching photo of Liam holding their new baby, captioning it: "On Wednesday 22nd March Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy, weighing 7lb 9 and looking like a dream. Although he still doesn't have a name he is already stealing hearts.

"We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers around the world. A day that now has a different meaning to me forever."

The dog will mourn and grieve as we do and then one day, the dog will be alright.
