(Fargo, ND) — Nationally top-ranked North Dakota State runs its winning streak to eight, but a failed two-point conversion in overtime dooms number ten North Dakota. The Fighting Hawks lost 41-40 Saturday at Youngstown State, which entered the game with a two-and-six mark. After the host Penguins hit a tying field goal with 12 seconds left in regulation and took a 41-34 lead in overtime, North Dakota answered with a one-yard touchdown pass from Simon Romfo to Bo Belquist. But the pass attempt for the two-point conversion was incomplete as the Fighting Hawks went for the win. Meanwhile, the Bison built a 42-3 halftime lead at Murray State and cruised to a 59-6 victory. North Dakota State hosts Northern Iowa this Saturday, while North Dakota travels to Indiana State.
