Shedeur Sanders Named 'Perfect Fit' to Replace Pro Bowl QB in 2025

Quarterback Shedeur Sanders had another solid performance in Colorado's 34-23 win over Cincinnati on Saturday night at Folson Field. Sanders went 25-of-30 passing for 323 yards and two touchdowns to help the Buffaloes improve to a 6-2 record and earn a No. 23 ranking.

Sanders is expected to enter the 2025 draft and become a first-round pick next April. Shedeur's father, Deion Sanders, has some concerns about where his son might be drafted. He thinks organizations can have a big impact on the career trajectory of quarterbacks.

ESPN's draft analyst Mel Kiper has a "perfect fit" for Shedeur for the 2025 draft. Kiper suggested Shedeur would be a great option for the Las Vegas Raiders, as the team will look to replace 2023 Pro Bowl quarterback Gardner Minshew.

"Sanders will obviously go early, and the Raiders should be near the top of the draft," Kiper wrote. "And I think about how new minority owner Tom Brady might impact the team's draft decisions. Brady was super accurate, tough and excellent in the pocket during his playing career -- which sounds a lot like the 6-foot-2, 215-pound Sanders. The senior's 73.3% completion rate is fourth in the country, and his 82.3 QBR from inside the pocket is 15th.

"It seems like a really good fit for a Raiders team that needs a young starter under center."

Minshew is 138-of-204 passing for 1,377 yards, six touchdowns and eight interceptions this season. He was benched for second-year quarterback Aidan O'Connell a couple of times this season, but O'Connell was placed on injured reserve in Week 8 following an injury he suffered against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Raiders are 2-6 entering Week 9 and could be in prime position to select a quarterback like Shedeur.
