Police are investigating following a rash of car break-ins and attempted break-ins in the region.

The break-ins occurred in Dutchess County on Thursday, Oct. 24, and Friday, Oct. 25, on the following Poughkeepsie roadways:

    • Main Street
    • S. Hamilton Street
    • Parker Avenue
    • Catharine Street

    • Civic Center Plaza.

These incidents are currently under investigation.

Poughkeepsie Police remind owners that vehicles should always be locked and secured. When not in use, all valuables should be removed from the vehicle, and no items of value (including loose change) should be visible. When possible, park in a well-lit area or an area that is under video surveillance.
