NFL Fans Are Sick After Chiefs Make Big Trade Before Deadline

The Kansas City Chiefs, who remain the only undefeated team in the NFL heading into Week 9 of the 2024 NFL season, just got a big boost to their pass rush ahead of the Nov. 5 trade deadline, thanks to the New England Patriots.

On Monday afternoon, less than 24 hours after the victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Chiefs have landed pass rusher Josh Uche in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick.

Many speculated that a trade could be in Uche's future after he was ruled inactive for the Patriots battle with the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon. Even more so after the Patriots coach revealed the reasoning behind this move.

“It was just a healthy scratch, and we also [aim] to put the best team out there that gives us the best chance to win,” New England coach Jerod Mayo said of his decision on Uche.

Uche, a former Michigan Wolverines star, had played in every game for the Patriots prior to Week 8, recording 13 total tackles and two sacks. If Chiefs coach Andy Reid can unleash Uche's full potential, which has seen him record 11.5 sacks in a single season, Kansas City has become that much more dangerous.

NFL fans are not happy that the Chiefs keep finding ways to stay atop the NFL. This new move has only added fuel to the fire, with many calling out the Patriots, along with other NFL teams, for continuing to aid the best team in the league.

"The rich get richer," one fan said.

"Why does every team help KC?"

"Why do GM’s continue to trade with the chiefs are these guys seriously not reading the room"

"How do they keep doing this?!"

"Can the NFL stop making the Chiefs better. Signed, Steelers fan trying to enjoy his Christmas this year."

"Why. Are. We. Helping. The. Chiefs."

The Chiefs don't necessarily have the best pass-rushing in the NFL, ranking towards the bottom of the league with just 15 sacks through seven games. In fact, their best comes at the defensive tackle position in All-Pro Chris Jones, who has recorded three sacks on the season. Defensive end George Karlaftis showed promise in 2023 with 10.5 sacks but, like Jones, has only managed three this year.

Uche was the No. 60 pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft. Following his rookie deal with New England, the former All-Big Ten talent signed a one-year, $3M with the team back in March. He is set to be an unrestricted free agent following the 2024 season.

Some teams sit on the hands are doing nothing Kansas City Chiefs. They want to win and they take players and get them cheap and they do great things for them most of the time.
