COLUMBIANA – The Columbiana Police Department has arrested Kennixe Lee Walton for the alleged murder of his wife Charity Lea Snow.

After receiving a phone call from a concerned resident, the Columbiana Police Department arrived to the 400 block of Industrial Parkway in Columbiana at 2:40 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26.

Upon arrival, police discovered a deceased female who was identified as Snow. According to Columbiana Police Chief Jeff Bowers, Snow’s husband, Walton, was taken into custody as a suspect on Oct. 26 and warrants for the murder of Snow were obtained on Oct. 27.

Walton is currently held in the Shelby County Jail for murder on no bond after being booked on Oct. 26. Bowers shared that Walton is set to face a hearing in “the next couple of days.”

“We’re praying for the family,” Bowers said. “This is just such a horrible, senseless act… The Columbiana Police Department supports the community in any way that we can and (that) includes prayers. Of course, anything we can do for the family, all they have to do is ask.”

Bowers expressed his gratitude to the local law enforcement who offered their assistance during the investigation.

“We would like to thank, of course, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, the Major Crimes Task Force as well as the Alabaster Police Department (for) their assistance in this case,” Bowers said. “Everything came together and he (the suspect) was taken into custody without incident”
