Columbus won't meet mayor's goal of fixing computer systems from cyber attack by Oct. 31

It now appears clear that Columbus will not restore all its computer systems by the end of this month, a goal set by Mayor Andrew Ginther a month ago.

The city is still recovering after a cyber attack on the city discovered in July crippled the city's computer systems and the hackers leaked citizens' personal information on the dark web.

The city's chief technology officer, Sam Orth, reported to the Columbus City Council on Monday that of the city's 474 computer systems, 74% have been restored. That's the same percentage that was reported to Council last week , although two applications have been restored, Orth said.

The city Department of Technology expects to restore internet for city employees by the end of this week, Orth said, barring unforeseen circumstances.

Orth said only about 16,600 people have registered for free credit monitoring paid for by the city.

City residents and anyone who has provided their name or information to the city, including the Franklin County Municipal Court, are eligible for two years of free credit monitoring via Experian. You must sign up by Nov. 29. To sign up, you can visit www.columbus.gov/cyber or call 1-833-918-5161 with the code B129832 or B129988 for anyone under 18.

No one is surprised by this. His a horrible mayor and this is exactly what Columbus deserves. You people keep electing the same people over and over. Democrats DO NOT have our best interest in mind just keeping the poor people poor and dependent. Wake up people
