ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — We’re halfway there, everyone. Happy Wednesday! According to Meteorologist Matt Mackie, we’re in luck with another sunny day with slightly more clouds to the north and west of Albany.

Anthony Futia of Albany was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for aggravated vehicular homicide. Futia was charged with causing a fatal motorcycle crash in Lake George while impaired by alcohol and drugs on June 12, 2022. Meanwhile, the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is getting ready to hold public hearings this week on a controversial project, Saratoga Biochar Solutions. The Saratoga Biochar project has been facing pushback from some community members since they learned of it in 2022. 1. Driver in fatal Lake George motorcycle crash sentenced to 15 years to life in prison

Anthony Futia of Albany was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for aggravated vehicular homicide. Futia was charged with causing a fatal motorcycle crash in Lake George while impaired by alcohol and drugs on June 12, 2022.

2. Residents continue push back against Saratoga Biochar Project

The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is getting ready to hold public hearings this week on a controversial project, Saratoga Biochar Solutions. The Saratoga Biochar project has been facing pushback from some community members since they learned of it in 2022.

3. Vermont State Police investigating suspicious death in Pownal

Vermont State Police are investigating a suspicious death in Pownal. Police said they were called around 3 p.m. Tuesday to Chickadee Drive for a reported altercation.

4. Arrest made in fatal pedestrian crash in Queensbury

A Hudson Falls man was arrested in connection to a fatal car crash that happened on December 15, 2023, in Queensbury. Peter Northup Jr. is charged with leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle accident.

5. New Hudson Valley-based HGTV show sets premiere date

“Small Town Potential,” a new HGTV show filmed in the Hudson Valley , has gotten a new premiere date. Originally scheduled to air in June 2023, the show will now be premiering on March 3 at 9 p.m.
