Shields pours in 35; Emma Willard advances to Class A quarters

TROY, NY ( NEWS10 ) — The Section 2 basketball playoffs got underway Friday night. In Class A girls hoops, seven seed Emma Willard played host to the 10 seed, Cohoes.

The Jesters controlled from the opening tip, building up a 25-14 lead at the half. Emma Willard pulled away in the second half on their way to a 64-26 win.

Audrey Shields led the way for the Jesters with 35 points. Emma Willard advances to take on the two seed, Holy Names, on the road next Friday in the quarterfinals.
