    Community woodworking shop opening in Saratoga Springs

    SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Saratoga Joinery, a non-profit organization located at 69 Caroline Street in Saratoga Springs, will soon be opening. The community woodworking shop is set to open its doors on Tuesday, March 5.

    Saratoga Joinery aims to offer a place for woodworkers of all levels to learn, build, and share their passion for woodworking. The 8,500 square foot facility includes machines, tools and workspaces, with lumber, sheet goods and other materials available to buy on-site.

    Members get full access to the space, project storage, discounted class registration, and places to showcase or sell their work. Saratoga Joinery will also offer woodworking classes of all experience classes to the general public.

    “The idea is to create a safe, welcoming place for people to learn and develop skills,” said founder John Haller. “There will always be staff on-site to ensure safety and help less experienced people gain the confidence they need. A sense of community is really important to us, so we plan to partner with other organizations on service projects. These projects will give our members the opportunity to get practical experience in a team setting while giving back to their community.”

    Saratoga Joinery will be having its grand opening to the public on Saturday, March 16 at 10 a.m. The grand opening will include tours of the facility, refreshments, and activities.

    Carrabba’s Italian Grill in Latham permanently closes

    The organization will offer monthly memberships beginning March 5 for $85 a month. Saratoga Joinery will be open Tuesday and Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
