Northville, NDBG to meet in Class D girls championship

AVERILL PARK, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The Section 2 Class D championship matchup was set at Averill Park High School on Tuesday night. In the first semifinal of the night the two-seed, Hartford, took on the three-seed, Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons.

The Golden Knights led from the jump, taking a 20-12 lead into the second quarter. They grew their lead to 20 by the half, taking a 36-16 lead into the break. Bishop Gibbons cruised to a 71-48 win.

In game two, top-seeded Northville took on the four-seed, Saratoga Catholic. It was a defensive battle to start, with the Falcons leading 11-7 after one. Northville’s Hailey Monroe was the difference, pouring in 34 points in the game, leading the Falcons to a 50-23 win.

Northville and Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons will meet in an all-WAC Class D championship game on Monday at Hudson Valley Community College at 4:30 PM.
