Junior guard Hailey Monroe was the main catalyst scoring 28 points and being named tournament MVP. Keira Mackey scored 10 points in the victory.

Early on the Falcons dictated the pace and ended the opening quarter with a 16-11 lead. In the second quarter, they kept their foot on the gas but the defense played a big role, holding the Golden Knights to just five points, and went into the break with a 27-14 lead.

“It feels amazing, especially going runner-up my last two seasons,” Monroe said. “So, only making it to the semifinals and making it to the finals, and winning it all, it feels really nice.”

The Falcons will now play against Section 7’s Boquet Valley in the state quarterfinals on Saturday, March 9, at Clinton Community College.
