    UPH in Saratoga to host free Army Jazz Ambassadors show

    SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Universal Preservation Hall announced they will host a free performance by the Jazz Ambassadors of Washington, D.C. The show will be held on April 20.

    The 19-member ensemble is the official touring big band of the United States Army. The group has played at the Toronto Jazz Festival, the Richmond Jazz Festival and the Kennedy Center Honors, and has performed alongside artists such as the Dave Brubeck All-Star Quintet, Ernie Watts and Gordon Goodwin.

    The band performs tunes from a variety of styles, including swing, bebop and New Orleans jazz, as well as standards and patriotic pieces. The concert is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
