    ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Happy Monday! According to Meteorologist Matt Mackie , the week ahead looks cool and blustery, with a chance for some light snow at times.

    Today’s five things you need to know this morning includes the remains of New York National Guard members Casey Frankoski and John Grassia returning home, the choreographer of Catskill Central School District’s Cinderella play being fired, and a car crashed into a house in Rensselaerville early Sunday morning.

    1. Grassia and Frankoski remains returning home

    The remains of New York National Guard members Casey Frankoski and John Grassia are returning home on Monday. Both were killed in a helicopter crash in Texas on March 8. Both Frankoski and Grassia are from the Capital Region.

    2. Catskill CSD fires employee in Cinderella investigation, students say

    The Catskill community gathered outside the Catskill Central School District and at Anthony’s Banquet Hall to discuss an internal investigation surrounding the 2024 Cinderella musical. On Friday, Superintendent Dan Wilson sent out a notice about a breach of confidentiality that led to an employee being fired.

    3. Albany County Sheriff’s Office investigating car crash and house fire

    The Albany County Sheriff’s Office reported a car that crashed into a house in Rensselaerville early Sunday morning at around 1 a.m. Deputies said that upon arriving at the scene, the car and house were engulfed with fire.

    4. Bennington PD investigates fatal crash on Route 7

    The Bennington Police Department responded to Route 7 in Bennington, north of exit 2 on Saturday after receiving reports of a three-car crash where people were injured and one car was on fire. Bennington Rural Fire Department and Bennington Rescue Squad also responded to the scene.

    5. The 2024 Albany Saint Patrick’s Day Parade

    NEWS10 participated in the annual Albany Saint Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday which brought dozens of groups of participants and hundreds of attendees. 2024 featured a new route that started at Central Avenue and Lexington Avenue.
