Catskill choral director reinstated from suspension

CATSKILL, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The choral director in the Catskill Central School District has been reinstated . The teachers association said Michelle Storrs-Ryan returned to her classroom on Monday.

Students and parents held protests and spoke up at board meetings to call for her suspension to end. Storrs-Ryan was accused of putting tape on a student’s mouth, but the involved student previously told NEWS10 the claim was false .

Principal Junait Shah was also suspended and came back to work last week. District leaders had asked for patience as they were taking the allegations seriously and wanted to finish investigating before making any decisions.
