Monster Jam returns to MVP Arena

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Get ready for the roaring sounds of engines as Monster Jam returns to the MVP Arena. NEWS10 Photojournalist Nick Montera gives us a taste of what to expect this weekend .

“The atmosphere. You know you’re in the big leagues when you show up for Monster Jam. It’s the top of the sport,” Grave Digger driver Matt Cody said. “It’s family friendly, it’s unscripted, unpredictable, you have no idea what these 12,000 pound trucks are gonna do. It’s family fun, so, there’s not many sports where the family can come and be involved with the show. The pit parties, getting up close with us drivers, seeing the trucks, taking pictures.”

Each day starts with a Monster Jam Pit Party from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Attendees can meet the drivers and crew, see the trucks up close, and get autographs. Pit Party activities include the Sand Box play area, tire demonstration, coloring and temporary tattoo station, and photo ops.

The main event includes head-to-head monster truck battles in Freestyle, Skills, Donuts and Racing competitions. The event is at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 and 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 14.

Those who want to go to the Pit Party and the main event will need tickets for both. You can buy tickets on the Ticketmaster website .
