CBA’s Bob Burns teaches life and football during youth clinic

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Christian Brothers Academy and head varsity football coach Bob Burns hosted a youth football clinic for the future stars of the Capital Region on Sunday morning.

For the second year in a row, the three-time defending Section II champion shared his knowledge about the game in an effort to equip young men with the tools to be successful.

For Burns, the gridiron is a place where many lessons can be learned.

“I think football builds life skills too. You know, it’s discipline and dealing with adversity; obviously hopefully there’s not a lot of adversity out here today,” said Burns. “We’re going to put them in some challenging situations, but we’re just basically trying to build skills. We’re not trying to necessarily win any football games out here because drills and fundamentals I think are the most important thing to football. Blocking and tackling – we don’t have pads on out here but we’re going to try to simulate that the best that we possibly can.”
