Albany Academy’s lineup swings the Cadets to victory

VALATIE, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Albany Academy baseball used a run-happy fifth inning to push past Ichabod Crane 12-2 Friday night. The Cadets tallied 10 hits with seven players recording an RBI in the win.

Nico DeSanto doubled in the second inning scoring two runs to give the Cadets a 3-1 lead. The Riders closed the gap in the bottom of the inning when Albany Academy was called for a balk allowing Jack Mullins to make it a 3-2 ball game heading into the third.

In the fifth, the Cadets scored five runs on two hits. Manny Santos drew in three of those runs off a single, putting Academy up 8-2.

Providing some insurance on the mound was Scott Hanson. Hanson pitched 5.2 innings, gave up three hits, and two runs, and struck out six batters.
