Amsterdam to host public hearing on Tuesday

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The city of Amsterdam is hosting a public hearing in the Common Council Chambers in City Hall on Tuesday at 5 p.m. This hearing allows residents to learn and ask questions about the incoming arrival of Boogie Lab USA which was announced by Mayor Mike Cinquanti.

Boogie Lab USA is an artisan bakery that has selected Amsterdam for its first manufacturing facility in the United States. According to the city, this development would bring a state-of-the-art production plant that would provide jobs and economic opportunities.

Amsterdam plans to submit a Restore New York Grant request for $2 million for Boogie Labs to fund part of the $22 million cleanup of the former Sonoco plan on Forest Avenue. This public hearing is a requirement of the grant request and will provide more information on the Forest Avenue renovation and Boogie Lab USA.
