    Memorial Day parades around the Capital Region

    ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Memorial Day is Monday, May 27. Cities and towns across the Capital Region are holding parades and ceremonies to honor those who died while serving in the United States armed forces.

    Albany

    The City of Albany’s annual Memorial Day Parade is set for Monday, May 27 and steps off at 9:30 a.m. The parade starts at the corner of Central Avenue and Partridge Street and finishes at Academy Park.

    Ballston Spa

    The Ballston Spa VFW Post 358 and the Henry Cornell American Legion Post 234 are hosting the Ballston Spa Memorial Day Parade on Saturday, May 25 at 9 a.m. The parade starts just north of Union Fire Company on Route 50 and ends at Veteran’s Memorial Park on Low Street with a ceremony. After, free light refreshments will be served in Wiswall Park. The event goes on rain or shine.

    Berlin

    The Berlin Memorial Day Parade is set for Monday, May 27. Step-off is at 11 a.m. on Maple Avenue.

    Castleton

    Castleton will be having its Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27 at 10 a.m. The parade steps off at Boltwood Avenue and Seaman Avenue and is followed by a ceremony at Mountain View.

    Lineup announced for Brunswick summer concert series

    Cohoes

    The City of Cohoes is hosting its Memorial Day Parade on Thursday, May 23 at 6 p.m. The parade starts at Veteran’s Memorial Park on Columbia Street and ends at Canal Square.

    Delmar

    The Town of Bethlehem Memorial Day Parade is set for Monday, May 27 at 11 a.m.

    Duanesburg

    The Town of Duanesburg is having a Memorial Day Parade on Tuesday, May 21 at 6:30 p.m. The parade begins at 4everBods Fitness Club at 221 Victoria Drive in Delanson and goes down Route 395/Main Street to Memorial Park.

    East Greenbush

    East Greenbush is holding its annual Memorial Day Parade on Saturday, May 25 at 10 a.m. The parade starts at the East Greenbush Bowling Center and ends at the VFW Post on Hays Road.

    Galway

    The Galway Memorial Day Parade is set for Monday, May 27 at 10 a.m.

    Summer block party concert series coming to Troy

    Glens Falls/Queensbury

    The Glens Falls and Queensbury Memorial Day Parade is set for Monday, May 27 at 10 a.m. The parade starts on Glen Street from Maple Street and ends at Crandall Park where a ceremony will take place at the Victory & Peace Monument.

    Gloversville

    The Gloversville Memorial Day Parade is set for Monday, May 27 at 9:30 a.m. The parade runs from the intersection of 8th Avenue and Main Street, then to 6th Avenue and Kingsboro Avenue, and ends at Prospect Hill Cemetery where a ceremony will be held.

    Hartford

    The Hartford Memorial Day Parade is set for Monday, May 27 at 6 p.m.

    Hague

    Hague is having its 21st annual Memorial Day Parade and Funfest on Saturday, May 25. Funfest runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hague Town Park. The parade starts at 2 p.m. and runs from Route 8 to Hague Town Park. A memorial dedication will take place at the park after the parade.

    Hoosick Falls

    The Hoosick Fall Memorial Day Parade and ceremonies are set for Monday, May 27. The ceremonies will start at 8 a.m. at the flagpole in Wood Park. The parade will step off at 10 a.m.

    Hudson Falls/Kingsbury

    The Kingsbury Memorial Day Parade steps off from the Franklin Street parking lot of Hudson Falls High School at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 27. The parade goes to the Veterans Monument J. Walter in Hudson Falls for a ceremony.

    At 11 a.m., the Hudson Falls Memorial Day Parade starts at Clark, Main Street, Forrest Street, and North Oak Street and goes to Union Cemetery for Memorial Services a the Veterans Monument and then to the Hudson Falls American Legion for a Memorial Service.

    Carnival returning to Viaport Rotterdam

    Lake George

    The Lake George Memorial Day Parade is set for Saturday, May 25 at 11:30 a.m. The parade steps off from West Brook Road at 11:30 a.m. and goes to Shepard Park where a ceremony will take place.

    Melrose, Schaghticoke, Valley Falls, Johnsonville Parade

    The Memorial Day Parade is set for Thursday, May 23 at 7 p.m. The parade route goes from Knickerbocker Road in Hemstreet Park and ends at the Hemstreet Park Fire House.

    Nassau

    The Nassau Memorial Day Parade is set for Monday, May 27 at 2 p.m. Step-off is near the Post Office with a reception to follow at the Chandler Young Veterans Association Post.

    North Greenbush

    The North Greenbush Memorial Day Parade is set for Monday, May 27 at 1 p.m. at the Town Hall.

    Pittsfield

    The City of Pittsfield is having its Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27 at 9 a.m. The parade will go down North Street to Wahconah Street and then to Pittsfield Cemetery. A ceremony will follow at the cemetery.

    Poestenkill

    The Sullivan Jones VFW Post 7466 is hosting a Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27 at 11 a.m. at the VFW Post at 25 Veterans Street. Refreshments will be available after the parade.

    New ice cream shop opens in Schoharie

    Rensselaer

    The Rensselaer Memorial Day Parade will be held on Sunday, May 26 with opening ceremonies starting at 1 p.m. at Beverwyck Cemetery on Washington Avenue. The parade will step off at 2 p.m. on Washington Avenue and end at Huyck Square for closing ceremonies.

    Rotterdam

    The annual Rotterdam Memorial Day Parade is set for Thursday, May 23 at 6:30 p.m. The parade will begin at Mohonasen High School, go down Curry Road, and end at Rotterdam Town Hall.

    Sand Lake

    The Sand Lake Memorial Day Parade is set for Monday, May 27 at 10 a.m. The parade route is from Averill Avenue in Westfall Village to the Sand Lake Veteran’s Memorial Park on Route 43. Ceremonies will begin at 10:30 a.m. in Veterans Park.

    Schoharie

    The Schoharie Memorial Day Parade is set for Thursday, May 23 at 6 p.m. It runs from Bridge Street to the Old Stone Fort.

    Scotia-Glenville

    The Scotia-Glenville Memorial Day Parade is set for Wednesday, May 22 at 6:15 p.m. down Mohawk Avenue in Scotia. A ceremony will take place after the parade at the War Memorial in Collins Park.

    South Glens Falls

    The South Glens Falls Memorial Day Parade is set for Friday, May 24 at 6 p.m. The parade goes from Main Street to 5th Street and ends with a ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park.

    St. Johnsville

    The St. Johnsville Memorial Day Parade is set for Monday, May 27 at 9:30 a.m. A memorial service will take place at Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Park after the parade.

    Troy

    The Troy Memorial Day Parade is set for Monday, May 27 at 1 p.m. The parade route will go from Knickerbacker Park to Powers Park. There will be a cookout at Forty-One Sports Grille afterward.

    Waterford

    The Waterford Memorial Day parade is set for Wednesday, May 22 at 7 p.m. The parade will go from Grace Street to Saratoga Avenue to Broad Street and end with a ceremony at Soldiers and Sailors Park.

    Watervliet

    The Watervliet Memorial Day Parade is set for Monday, May 27 at 10 a.m. The parade starts at Watervliet High School and ends at Memorial Veterans Park with a ceremony.
