SCHOHARIE, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The Old Stone Fort in Schoharie is a museum that houses the area’s rich history. It was built in 1772 as a High Dutch Reformed Church.

During the Revolutionary War, the stone church was enclosed by a log stockade in 1777. It was one of three forts located along the Schoharie River. In 1889, the Schoharie County Historical Society was chartered to operate a museum at the Old Fort.
