Albany All Stars gearing up for weekend roller derby

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 )– The Albany All Stars roller derby team will take on the Ladies’ Death and Derby Society of Madison County on Saturday, May 25 at 7 p.m. The derby is being held at the Washington Avenue Armory at 195 Washington Ave.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and tickets can be purchased in advance online or at the door for $15. Local DJ LadyVerse will spin records for the evening, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit a charity yet to be selected. Past donations have been made to Food Not Bombs, Planned Parenthood, and others.

McGeary’s Pub at 4 Clinton St. will host an afterparty for the Albany All Stars, where fans can meet their favorite players. The Albany All Stars are owned by local skaters and an affiliated league with the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association.
