Clifton Park reopens two seasonal community pools

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) -Ahead of Memorial Day, the Town of Clifton Park opened two of its community pools. Barney Road and Country Knolls Pools welcome members and guests to cool off with a swim daily from noon to 8 p.m.

For twins Micah and Seth Hamlet, they say the diving boards and water slides keep them coming back every season. “I’m really excited to be here because I’ve loved swimming ever since I was two years old,” described Micah.

“It’s just a fun experience. You can get right in with your friends and do whatever you want!” exclaimed Seth. Whatever you want – as long as you’re following the rules.

A third pool, Locust Lane, will open on June 25. Jaelynn Christian says she is ready to swim in all three. “This is our first time coming here (Barney Road) and we actually have a pool pass. This is the first pool we are going to and probably tomorrow we’ll go to the other pool (Country Knolls).”

For the parents worrying if Memorial Day will bring rain or shine, they say this unofficial start of summer is a great opportunity to spend time as a family. “It’s 83 degrees, sunny, feels just like summer. I think yesterday was a little chiller, but today’s a great day to get into the water,” stated Brooke Power.
