    Capitol Park After Dark film series returning to Albany

    ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Free outdoor movie nights are returning to West Capitol Park in Albany. The Capitol Park After Dark movie series features family-friendly classic films on three Wednesdays in a row.

    The movies start at 8 p.m. and attendees should bring their own chairs and blankets. Free popcorn will be available while supplies last.

    Movie lineup

    • August 21: “Dial M for Murder” (1954), directed by Alfred Hitchcock. After a plan to kill his wife goes wrong, he devises a plan to frame her for murder.
    • August 28: “Matilda” (1996), directed by Danny DeVito. Based on Roald Dahl’s 1988 children’s book, a young girl develops telekinetic powers and uses them to stand up to her unkind family and school principal.
    • September 4: “The Thin Man” (1934), directed by W. S. Van Dyke. This comedy-mystery film focuses on a retired detective who teams up with his wife to solve a murder case.
    New Mediterranean restaurant opens in Colonie

    The movie series is presented by the New York State Office of General Services. West Capitol Park is located between Washington Avenue and State Street and between South Swan Street and the New York State Capitol.
