Tree falls on Malta home following hail storm

MALTA, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Wind and hail were brought to Malta by some intense storms on Thursday. A man on Sand Spurrey Road spoke with NEWS10 about how this storm brought a tree down on his house.

“The hail started coming down really hard so I went outside to open the door out front to take a video of the hail, and all of the sudden we heard really extreme hail coming down. Then we heard a big crack and a boom and all of the sudden the ceiling started coming down,” said Jack, the homeowner.

Jack said it was a scary moment but was able to get his wife and children out to safety and they thanked their neighbors for their help. Meteorologist Matt Mackie reminds people that even with a low chance of a storm, it only takes one strong one in your area to cause issues so always be aware and prepared.
