    Capital Region Restaurant Rundown: August 12-16

    ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The restaurant industry is ever-changing with restaurants opening, closing, relocating, or just doing their thing. Here’s a recap of the latest Capital Region restaurant news, August 12 through 16.

    Colonie eatery set to close as owners retire

    Another restaurant on Wolf Road in Colonie will soon be closing. According to a Facebook post , Hong Kong Bakery & Bistro is set to close on August 26 as the owners are retiring after 20 years.

    Glenville pizzeria permanently closes after 8 years

    Slice of Glenville, located at 10 Glenridge Road, has permanently closed. The owners made the announcement in a Facebook post on Monday.

    Capital Region restaurant inspections: August 5-9

    These are the inspections from August 5 to 9 reported by the NYSDOH divided up by critical violations, non-critical violations, and no violations. You can find a list of all restaurant inspections for the last several years on the NYSDOH website .

    Italian restaurant in Greene County abruptly closes

    Modena Italian Cuisine, located at 10697 Route 32 in Greenville, has closed. Owners Danielle Corellis and Todd Graves made the announcement on Facebook on August 12.

    New Mediterranean restaurant opens in Colonie

    A new Mediterranean eatery has opened its doors in Colonie. Bol Mediterranean Grill, located at 1875 Central Avenue, officially opened at the end of July.

    Smashburger eatery opening on Albany’s Madison Avenue

    The owners of Restaurant 605 in Albany are opening up another restaurant. 605 Smash will be located at 560 Madison Avenue in the former Ralph’s Tavern space.

    New tenant set for closing eatery space in Colonie

    Briana Lin, who owns several restaurants in the Capital Region, is opening up a franchise location of Prince Tea House in the space at 8 Wolf Road. Lin said Hong Kong Bakery & Bistro owners Berry Lai and Shu Lam Chan had become her good friends.

    Indian restaurant opening in former Amsterdam Pizza Hut

    The former Pizza Hut in Amsterdam is getting new life. Grand Indian Kitchen is set to open in the space and will be the second location of Great Indian Kitchen in Guilderland.

    Popular Knox restaurant space opens as My Way Tavern

    Named after the Frank Sinatra song, My Way Tavern opened for business on August 14. Owner Erin Prastio has been working in the restaurant industry for over 20 years. She previously worked for several of the other owners that previously ran a tavern there.

    New café opens in Delmar’s Delaware Plaza

    Delaware Café has opened in Delaware Plaza in Delmar. The eatery officially announced its opening on Wednesday, August 14.
