    Man rescued from Fawn’s Leap in Greene County

    PALENVILLE, N.Y. ( NEWS10 )– A Brooklyn man, 23, was rescued at the waterfall Fawn’s Leap in the Kaaterskill creek on Aug. 10. The man was rescued with no injuries, according to the New York State Department of Enviornmental Conservation.

    The DEC reported that around 7 p.m., Forest Ranger Josh Gullen and Ranger Katherine Fox arrived to the scene around 7:20 p.m. after receiving a call about a person stuck at the waterfall. Local police, emergency services and additional DEC officers responded to the site.

    Once located the individual, Gullen and Fox began setting up a rope system down the rock ledge. After the system was secure, Ranger Peterson rappelled down the cliff to retrieve the individual.

    According to the DEC, after raising him from the rocks the forest rangers helped him across the creek safely. Once the situation was under control, the scene was clear at 9:10 p.m.
