Ukrainian Festival coming to Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The Capital Region branch of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA) will be presenting its Ukrainian Festival at the Polish Community Center in Albany. The event is scheduled for September 14.

The festival celebrates Ukrainian culture and heritage, showcasing a plethora of traditional foods, crafts, and artists. The event will feature performances by folk dancers, singers, and bands, including the Ukrainian orchestra Volya and the Syzokryli Dance Ensemble.

Festivities will run from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by a dance with live music from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. All proceeds from the festival will be donated toward humanitarian aid efforts in Ukraine.

“The atrocities in Ukraine have been unrelenting, but unfortunately, reports have faded from the news cycle. Come to our festival, rejoice in our culture and music, and help us with this important fundraising effort,” said Dr. Andrij Baran, president of the local UCCA chapter.

The Polish Community Center is located at 225 Washington Avenue Extension. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Tickets will only be available at the door on the day of the event.
