QUEENSBURY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 )– The Queensbury Union Free School District’s Board of Education has inducted two student liaisons for the 2024 to 2025 school year. Senior Mark Huffaker will be the Queensbury High School Student Senate President and Andre Murray will be the Student Senate Vice President.

Although the students can’t vote or participate in executive sessions, they will attend the Board of Education meetings and have the chance to participate in any committees. Murray will also be responsible for making meetings when Huffaker can’t.

Murray said he is excited to represent the student body while building a better understanding of the school. Huffaker and Superintendent Kyle Gannon agreed that the opportunity would strengthen the student’s voice.

“I think the Board of Education is progressive in having a student liaison work with them,” Gannon said. “This will allow a true student voice to be heard at a Board of Education meeting.”
