Saratoga Springs man sentenced for murder of former partner

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office announced that Sebastian Mabb, 31, of Saratoga Springs, was sentenced before Judge James Murphy III on Thursday to 23 years to life in prison. Mabb pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in June.

As part of his guilty plea, Mabb admitted to intentionally causing the death of Brianna Craig , his former intimate partner. Craig’s body was found inside her Saratoga Springs apartment back in February.

“The sentence imposed today is the result of exceptional work by the Saratoga Springs Police Department in their comprehensive investigation of this case,” said District Attorney Karen Heggen. “Judge Murphy’s state prison sentence recognizes and holds Defendant Mabb accountable for the horrific and tragic results of this domestic violence case. The profound impact this case has had on the family and friends of the victim will live with them forever.”
