Watervliet PD launches dash camera program

WATERVLIET, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The Watervliet Police Department has added dashboard cameras to their vehicles. Police said the new in-car cameras will provide different views of police encounters and improve transparency.

Body worn cameras were already in use. The dash cameras are also equipped with license plate readers.

The program was funded through a technology grant from the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services.
