Schenectady man accused of intentionally striking woman with car

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — A 29-year-old Schenectady man has been arrested after police said he purposefully struck a woman with a vehicle. The incident took place around 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Westgate Plaza on Central Avenue in the city of Albany.

Police said the woman, 29, was taken to Albany Medical Center with a broken leg and internal injuries. She is listed in stable condition.

Police arrested Trevaughn Haggray. They said he intentionally struck the victim while she was walking. They said he also swerved his vehicle toward another person who was walking with the victim, but she jumped out of the way before being struck.

Haggray was still on the scene when police arrived. Police said this was an ongoing domestic dispute.

Haggray was charged with assault in the first degree and attempted assault in the first degree. He was arraigned and sent to the Albany County Jail.
