DELMAR, NY ( NEWS10 ) — After a 2-7 finish last year, the Guilderland football team is looking for a bounce back season. The Dutchmen began their season on the road against Class A’s Bethlehem.

Guilderland led 14-7 in the third quarter, when Travis Berschwinger threw a touchdown pass to put Guilderland up 20-7. In the fourth, Kevin Walters linked up with Connor Yohe for a touchdown to cut the deficit to 20-14. The Eagles were driving with a chance to take the lead, but Guilderland’s Brian Igweike came up with an interception to seal the 20-14 win for Guilderland.

The Dutchmen will look to move to 2-0 at home on Friday against Shenendehowa, while the Eagles will look for their first win at home against CBA.
