    Police are investigating a shooting in Menands. Also, more information about the deadly school shooting in Georgia was released. These stories, and more, are in your five things to know this Monday.

    1. Police investigate shooting in Menands

    Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon just off Exit 6 on Interstate 787. A man was transported to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries after being treated on scene by emergency medical staff.

    2. Mother of Georgia shooting suspect called school to warn of emergency, family says

    The mother of the 14-year-old who has been charged with murder over the fatal shooting of four people at his Georgia high school called the school before the killings, warning staff of an “extreme emergency” involving her son, a relative said.

    3. Ballston Lake man arraigned for alleged burglaries

    A Ballston Lake man was arraigned in Saratoga County Court on Friday for several alleged burglaries in Clifton Park and Saratoga Springs. Court officials said Shaun Sheriff, 32, is facing multiple charges, including burglary and grand larceny.

    4. Guilderland student’s return after ‘Kill List’

    Parents in the Guilderland School District have raised concerns after a student who created a “kill list” returned to school following a suspension and criminal charges.

    5. Waffle House CEO Walt Ehmer dies

    Walt Ehmer, the president and CEO of Waffle House and a member of the board of trustees for the Atlanta Police Foundation, has died at age 58, the foundation announced Sunday.
