Water main break in Amsterdam results in road closures

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — City of Amsterdam officials announced that crews are currently on the scene of a water main break on West Main Street. Multiple road closures will be in place until repairs are complete.

Road closures

• West Main Street (Route 5) between Caroline Street and Henrietta Streets
• Caroline Street – All southbound traffic from Division Street to West Main Street
• Evelyn Street – All southbound traffic from Division Street to West Main Street

Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes while work is underway. Detour signs will be posted in the area. Anyone with questions can contact the Department of Public Works at (518)842-3691 .
