Ballston Spa CSD mourns passing of athletic director

BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The Ballston Spa Central School District is mourning the death of the high school’s athletic director Dave Sunkes. The superintendent said the district is stunned by his loss.

He had been part of the school community for more than 20 years building strong relationships with parents, students and community members. He helped oversee the return of the school’s athletic programs after they shut down during the pandemic.

Sunkes is survived by his wife and three sons.
