    Teenagers arrested in connection to stolen vehicle investigation

    ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Albany police have made three arrests in connection to a vehicle that had been reported stolen. A loaded handgun was also recovered.

    Around 4:10 p.m. Monday, police saw three people inside a stolen Mercedes Benz in the area of Catherine Street and Oneida Terrace. Police said a passenger got out of the car with a handgun. When officers approached, the passenger got back in the car, and lead police on a pursuit.

    Two passengers left the car and fled on foot. They were taken into custody in the area of State Street and South Swan Street. Police said a loaded handgun was thrown but was located in the area where the two passengers were taken into custody.

    The 16-year-old driver continued on Washington Avenue and struck multiple cars before hitting a utility pole in Tivoli Park. He then fled on foot to a wooded area where he was taken into custody. A minor injury was reported.

    Nah-queviar Wright, 19, of Albany, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree.

    Malachi Annan, 18, of Troy, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, and criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree. He was previously arrested on September 1 for robbery in the second degree when he allegedly displayed a BB gun and stole $40 from a person in the area of the North Pearl Street and Steuben Street.

    Wright and Annan are scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday morning.

    The 16-year-old was charged with reckless endangerment in the first degree, unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle in the third degree, criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. He was also cited for several traffic violations.

    His identity is not being released due to his age. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Albany County Family Court on Tuesday.

    Why do we always not identify these criminals what does age have to do with anything they steal or have illegal guns make them an example for others maybe it will save one child from dying!
